The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) has named the Annual Stuart Air Show as one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for 2016. The best events across the southeast United States compete to receive a Top 20 designation. The Martin County Office of Tourism and Marketing and the Stuart Air Show Board collaborated on the application for this prestigious designation.

The 2016 edition of the Stuart Air Show will be the 27th consecutive year for this beloved event. The Stuart Air Show draws 40,000 spectators annually and draws people nationally for the largest air show in southern Florida.

The STS Top 20 Events program has highlighted events and festivals around the Southeast since 1985. Travel industry experts select 20 events per month, and STS publicizes them throughout the United States. The complete list is published on two websites:EscapeToTheSoutheast.com and Travel Media Press Room.

“We are very proud to be named as one of the top tourism events in the southeast. Along with hundreds of volunteers, community business partners and sponsors, we work year-round to make this a signature event for everyone. Our tagline is ‘Honoring the Past, While Inspiring the Future’ and we live by those words bringing in exciting aerobatic acts, jet demonstrations, unique WWII displays, a historic battle re-enactment, children’s activities and community displays that not only entertain but also educate and capture the imagination of kids of all ages.” said Michael Roberts, Stuart Air Show Board President.

“The best events across the southeast compete to receive the prestigious Top 20 Events designation. This is our fourth Martin County event selected as one of the top 20 events in the southeast. Accolades such as this allow us to better promote our signature events. The Top 20 Events are promoted quarterly and the events included will reach over 1,600 media outlets each quarter including web, magazines, radio, TV stations, publications and newspapers,” said Nerissa Okiye, Tourism and Marketing Manager for Martin County.
