Save the date for September 20 and a birthday bash like none other
ALPINE HELEN-WHITE COUNTY, GEORGIA–SEPTEMBER 2019–With a history dating back to 1969, the Bavarian town of Alpine Helen-White County, about an hour and a half north of Atlanta, celebrates 50 years as Georgia’s Alpine Bavarian Village in 2019. On September 20, Helen is throwing a Birthday Party to commemorate it’s first event as an Alpine Bavarian Village, exactly 50 years to the day, and you’re invited to join in the festivities.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held 10-11:30 a.m. at the Helen Festhalle (1074 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, Georgia 30545, 706-878-1908) where the city’s annual Oktoberfest is also celebrated. Music, food, mimosas and cake will set the celebratory mood for all to enjoy.
Adding to the party-like atmosphere, the 49th Annual Oktoberfest kicks off in downtown Helen, September 5 and runs September 5-8, 12-15, 19-22 and September 26, daily through October 27. Don’t miss Helen’s biggest celebration–and the longest running Oktoberfest in the United States–complete with German music, dancing, food and drinks.
While visiting, learn about the history of White County and the Chattahoochee River and embrace the city’s history with a two mile out-and-back guided hike along the brand new Helen to Hardman Heritage Trail.
