The must-see attraction at Christmas in Cullman is the towering Christmas pyramid. At 30 feet tall, the Cullman Christmas pyramid is the tallest structure of its kind in the United States. Known in German as Weihnachtspyramide, the Christmas pyramid in Cullman has six tiers with each one featuring a different scene, including one that will pay tribute to the local law enforcement, first responders, as well as everyday citizens. The Cullman Christkindlmarkt features a host of local vendors set up German-style in small wooden tents. Jensen Beach Taste of Jensen Tuesday, December 3 The Taste of Jensen is a time-honored annual holiday tradition held in charming downtown Jensen Beach, Florida. Hutchison Island Jensen Beach Christmas Mansion Throughout December
This unofficial Martin County attraction is another fan favorite every year. During the holiday season, Robert and Elsa Eustace transform their 50,000-square-foot beachfront mansion into a magical winter wonderland. The Hutchinson Island estate attracts locals and visitors alike all year long, but it becomes an especially popular stop during December, when the mansion puts on a dazzling display including approximately 700,000 twinkling Christmas lights. Located at 4545 N.E Ocean Blvd, visitors are welcome to explore the spectacle and take photos of the jaw-dropping holiday display. The team of groundskeepers typically start stinging the lights in mid-October ahead of the grand reveal. The lights can be seen starting in early December from sunset until midnight, and the lights are usually taken down during the first week of January. People can also drive past in their vehicles to soak up all the sights and sounds while maintaining their distance from other onlookers. Nationally renowned, The Barter Theatre is a beloved tradition for those who like professional productions in an elegant setting. Named the “State Theatre of Virginia,” it has survived since the Great Depression, thriving with the times. Its multiple holiday performances are sought-after tickets to great entertainment, so plan ahead for an overnight stay. “A Christmas Carol” runs from November 14-December 22, while “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” is performed November 26-December 23. From November 20 – December 22 the new musical play “Go Tell it on the Mountain” gives witness to the lives of ordinary Appalachians as they celebrate “the most wonderful time of the year.” From the young girl in Tennessee obsessed with being a ballerina in The Nutcracker to a West Virginia coal miner’s son who dreams of finding a guitar under the Christmas tree, these monologues and songs remind audiences that faith and family is what Christmas in the mountains is all about.
Mid-November through early January, the Abingdon Visitors Center will display a Festival of Trees. Vote for your favorite tree with a donation of pet supplies or personal hygiene products. From November 8-10, 2024 Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center holds Mistletoe Market, the only holiday gift market of this caliber within a 150-mile radius. This year marks the 24th anniversary of this prestigious holiday shopping extravaganza which is the biggest annual fundraiser for the William King Museum of Art.

Wytheville
Head high into the Blue Ridge section of the Appalachians to Wytheville, Virginia, located at the intersection of I-77 & I-81, about 2.5 hours north of Charlotte, NC. Wytheville (ca. 1790; pronounced WITH-vil) is a charming town in Southwest Virginia filled with history, unique attractions, and breathtaking mountain scenery.
Wytheville’s picturesque downtown includes the historic, the contemporary and the quirky, like the “biggest pencil in Virginia”, and the LOVE installation, both selfie-worthy spots for couples. History lover? Seven museums bring the area’s past to life, including the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum. Wytheville is also a great spot for dinner and a show. The Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre is a 200-seat German-themed venue which presents Broadway-style professional productions. A four-course, themed, plated meal is served before each performance and every seat in the house is a good one. The theatre is also home to the Red Stag Restaurant, a full-service restaurant specializing in German favorites, as well as American fare. From November 8 – December 22, 2024 Wolfhahrt presents “Christmas in the Park.” Don’t miss Virginia’s favorite Christmas tradition with song and dance. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees and holiday displays are provided by local individuals, businesses, and organizations in the Wythe Arts Council’s Festival of Trees. From December 7 -14, trees will be on display at the Heritage Preservation Center. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite. A “Best in Show” entry will be announced at the end of the festival, based on the tree with the most votes.
New this year at the Hitachi Energy Arena, A Christmas to Remember features a drive through holiday light show with over 200 displays every Thursday through Sunday, November 22–Jan 1, 2025. Food vendors, craft vendors and live entertainment will also be on hand. Inside the arena, Inside the arena, enjoy ice skating and regularly scheduled Blue Ridge Bobcats hockey games.
Two of the gems of downtown Wytheville are its very special lodging options, both with a nod to the town’s storied history.
